Lincoln Park Barn

Members of the MFA Guild demonstrated at the Lincoln Park Barn on Saturday morning, June 20th. Thanks to all who came out to see us. We are grateful for your support. We giggled at the sign that was made for our "Gould". This was a venue for art clubs to market themselves. There was glassblowing, photography, writers, watercolorists...yes there is a group just for watercolor painters! We also got to enjoy performance art by talented local dancers and musicians. It was a good day. This was the first year for this event and it was a big turnout, considering all the other things going on Saturday, including Country Jam.

Special thanks to volunteers who demonstrated for the event: Judy B, Lynn dB, Mary W. Ricki H, and Lynn H.

Afterwards, there was a MFA Board Meeting. Thanks Lavonne H. for securing a great picnic table for lunch while board members discussed next year program ideas.  Thanks to our new President, Mr. J. Lloyd, for chairing the meeting. Special thanks to outgoing board members, Judy B. and Paula O., for guiding us through the process. I hope the new Executive Board is as successful as the outgoing one.

Knitters Group

A group of 12 met a Mary Jo's on June 10. Lynn H.'s friend from Antartica was there and they talked about their hat book. They are looking for knitters who will knit one of the hats to check for errors. They will furnish the yarn and you can keep the hat. Their goal is to have the book finished by the end of the year. When it is published Tangle is going to have a book signing event.

The next meeting will be July 8 at the Monument Village Coffee Shop in the Redlands, where the Safeway and Ace Hardware were located. The time will be 9:30-11:30a. An e-mail will go out with directions.
