Mesa Fiber
Arts Guild Meeting
March 4,
2015
by Nancy B.
The meeting
was called to order by Judy B, who chaired the meeting.
Guests this
month, Marilyn and LaVonne were introduced.
Approval of
minutes: Jarrod L motioned,
seconded by Bobbie R to approve the minutes as printed in the March
newsletter. Motion Carried.
Approval of
treasurer’s report: Trulie O
motioned, seconded by Dean M to approve the treasurer’s report as printed in
the corrected March newsletter.
Nominating
committee report: Lynn deB
reported that the nominating committee still has not found someone willing to fill
the president position. Ricki H is
willing to serve as one of the vice presidents but she could really use a
partner. This position can be
filled by co-vice presidents.
Nancy B and Ann K have agreed to be the secretary and treasurer for
another year. Margaret E is
willing to be the newsletter editor and Lynn H and Mary Jo N are willing to
serve on the membership committee.
Deb R
explained the responsibilities of the president’s job, which are to chair the
meetings and write the monthly “Thrums” for the newsletter. Anyone interested should contact one of
the nominating committee members.
The Guild really does need to fill the position this year if at all
possible.
United Way
Show – Judy B and Ann K will be hanging the art pieces March 13 from 10 am to
noon. The United Way office is
located in the US Bank building at 4th and Grand on the 6th
floor. Everyone is welcome to come
see the display.
Lynn H
reminded everyone of the Southwest Trading Post Adventure trip she has
organized for March 14-15. Anyone
interested in the participating should contact Lynn H as soon as possible. The information is also posted on the
Guild’s blog.
Reminder: The April meeting will be a joint
meeting in the evening at the Center for Independence. The program will be the weaver’s rug show
and the annual exchange and sale. The May meeting will include the election of officers,
challenge presentations and awards, potluck, and member of the year.

Adjourned
Nancy B,
